"Wolf": A Song of Vulnerability and Betrayal

I'm sharing a demo today called "Wolf," a song that delves into the complex emotions of vulnerability and betrayal. It's a raw and honest exploration of being caught off guard, of trusting the wrong person, and ultimately, recognizing the wolf in sheep's clothing.

"Wolf" came from a place of reflecting on moments where I felt exposed and taken advantage of. It's about that gut-wrenching realization that someone you trusted has ulterior motives, that what you thought was connection was actually manipulation.

The lyrics paint a picture of being lured into a false sense of security, only to find yourself trapped:

You caught me in a moment I was down I was vulnerable I was down on my luck

Couldn't sense the trouble

I was walking in the dark alone

The song builds in intensity, capturing the confusion and fear of being manipulated:

You confuse me

You've shown me all the ways that you could use me

You make me feel you never want to lose me

Then you turn around and you refuse me

"Wolf" is a song for anyone who's ever felt blindsided by someone they trusted. It's a reminder that sometimes, the people closest to us can be the ones who hurt us the most. But it's also a song of empowerment, a recognition of the wolf within, and a step towards reclaiming your strength.

VERSE

You caught me in a moment

I was down I was vulnerable

I was down on my luck Couldn't sense the trouble

I was walking in the dark alone

You saw me crying, my tears made you thirsty

I don't know why you would ever want to hurt me

Even when I'm with you, I'm alone

CHORUS

You confuse me

You've shown me all the ways that you could use me

You make me feel you never want to lose me

Then you turn around and you refuse me

Baby

VERSE

I don't want to be a part of your fantasy

You love to rip apart and you shake up my reality

If I knew any better I would run (run)

You keep me on lock keep  me in your trance

While you play me like Bach in the palm of your hand

You don't know any better do you, If ain't about you it don't matter to you

Every night I sleep with one eye open

In my mind in my heart I feel no emotion

It's how it feels sleeping next to the wolf (shh)

I acquiesce I can't ever say anything

If I feel the stress, I don't want to face the wolf I wake

So I don't really do the pull and push

CHORUS

You confuse me

You've shown me all the ways that you could use me

You make me feel you never want to lose me

Then you turn around and you refuse me

Maybe you're the wolf

BRIDGE

CHORUS

You confuse me (you confuse you confuse you confuse me)

You've shown me all the ways that you could use me (you could use you could use me)

You make me feel you never want to lose me

(Never lose never, never lose, never lose me)

Then you turn around and you refuse me

(You refuse me, baby)

Maybe you're the wolf (howls)
