Good Vibes and Growing Things: The Farmers Conference with Sipp Culture

Yesterday was inspiring! I got to tag along with my Sipp Culture crew to the Holtzclaw Farmers Conference at Hinds Community College in Utica. Sipp Culture was one of the sponsors, which was cool to see.

This conference is where all these passionate folks – from historically Black colleges, universities, community groups, you name it – come together to talk about community culture and agriculture. It was just a room full of people who genuinely care about making things better.

I snapped a few photos because the energy there was just awesome. Everyone was swapping ideas, talking about new research, and just figuring out how to work together. It was like, you could feel the passion in the air.

One family brought their goats, sheep, and the cutest little bunnies! And these three siblings knew everything about those animals. It was like watching a living, breathing classroom. They were sharing all this info, and it was all fascinating.

But what really got me was watching the college students. They were totally engaged, asking questions, and really paying attention to the animals and the young people taking care of them. You could tell they were genuinely interested.

It was inspiring. Seeing those two younger generations connecting through education and agriculture, it gave me a lot of hope. These young siblings were so knowledgeable and passionate, and the college students were soaking it all in. It felt like watching the future of farming right there.

It was a reminder that farming isn’t just some old-school thing. It’s alive, it’s evolving, and it’s being passed down to the next generation. And seeing that firsthand? That was the best part of the whole conference.

I loved to see how much everyone supported the culture of agriculture. And seeing my Sipp Culture team right in the middle of it all, making connections and showing their support, was just awesome.

It's not just about growing crops and building sustainable food systems. It's about building a community, sharing knowledge, and making sure everyone has a chance to thrive. And that's exactly what this conference was all about.

I left feeling really good about my experience. It's nice to see people coming together and making a real difference in rural Mississippi.
