Ever felt like people just don't get your hustle? Like they misunderstand your need to step back, recharge, and focus on your goals? That's the energy behind my song demo, "Ghost."

I wrote this song a few years ago during my time in Memphis, working with independent recording artists under the mentorship of the legendary David Porter. It was a period of intense growth and learning, but also a time when I realized the importance of setting boundaries and prioritizing my own well-being.
As you listen, remember, I'm a songwriter, not a singer. :)
"Ghost" is a response to those who labeled me a "ghost" when I'd take time away to heal, recharge, or simply focus on my grind. It's a declaration that prioritizing yourself isn't about disappearing; it's about strategically channeling your energy towards your goals. The lyrics speak to that hustle mentality:
You call me a ghost
But I ain’t ghosting on you
I ain’t trying to hide
Man I ain’t running from you
I’m just grinding grinds
Focused on the paper
Keeping myself high
Above negative-thinking haters
I ain’t got no time
Tryna run around these streets
I ain’t got no time
Tryna shake it to your beats
I just stack my dimes man
I put BS behind me
I say it all the time
That shit don’t be on my mind
You know I gotta grind
Everyday, everyday
Everyday, everyday
I’m just trying to make it
For my future sons and daughters
I’m driven by a mission
So that shit makes me work harder
You can’t see my vision
So that makes you a big problem
So you’ll feel that distance
Til I feel the need to call you
RAP:
I don’t mean to ghost you
I don’t, I don’t mean to ghost you
Don’t you let me haunt you
Don’t you, don’t you let me haunt you
I’m out here collecting bags
While you’re nowhere getting mad
I’m out here collecting bags
While you’re nowhere getting mad
Everyday, everyday
(You call me a ghost
But I ain’t ghosting on you)
Everyday, everyday
(I ain’t ghosting on you
I’m just on my grind)
